The partners Goiener and Tecnalia visited Ispaster on January 8th, a very relevant Case study under assessment in CHESTER project.
Ispaster, located in the north of Spain, is a small municipality that has been working hard in the last 4 years to come up with a renewable installation able to cover the electricity and heat demand of the main public services of the village. Â Thanks to Barrizar, company in charge of the design and implementation of the grid, the partners were able to visit the different installations that compose this interesting network: components for electric (PV panels) and heat production (Biomass boilers + solar thermal), the storage equipment and the various monitoring toolsemployed.
This visit provided a better understanding of this case study and gave important inputs for the improved business model baseline to be defined now in WP6 Market and business opportunities assessments. A new economic framework will be defined in this work package that fits CHESTER better.
