TECNALIA is the leading private and independent research and technology organisation in Spain (and amongst the largest in Europe)that strives to generate impacts by means of innovation and technological development. TECNALIA’s Energy and Environment Division carries out research in fields such as high-efficiency thermal and electrical energy resources, RES penetration, energy storage, management of energy generation and distribution networks, etc. TECNALIA owns and exploits a Thermal Laboratory which allows evaluating energy efficiency, heat losses and functional controls of thermal systems like heat pumps, air handling units, sensible, latent or thermochemical heat storage systems, etc. CHESTER high-temperature heat pump prototype will be developed and tested at this laboratory.
