Events

ECOS 2021

CHESTER consortium was present at ECOS 2021, the 34th International Conference on efficiency, cost, optimisation, simulation and environmental impact of energy systems. The event was organised in a hybrid mode. Thus, it was hold both online and in Giardini Naxos, Taormina Sicily (Italy) from 27 June to 2 July 2021.

Presentations

The CHESTER partner University of Ghent (Belgium) presented the experimental results of the organic Rankine cycle (ORC). The ORC is one of the main components of the innovative CHEST technology. Kenny Couvreur  presented a thermodynamic analysis of an organic Rankine cycle with a variable volume ratio expander for integration in a Carnot battery.

Another researcher, Robin Tassenoy presented a presentation on the potential of Carnot batteries for load shifting of solar photovoltaic-production.

More information

All online lectures were scheduled from 28 to 30 June. For more information and registration,  event agenda.

About the event
