The CHEST system: Towards a smart and flexible renewable energy management system for the future!

After five years, the CHESTER project has developed the 𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐒𝐓 𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦, an innovative energy management system called compressed heat energy storage which is a specific type of Carnot battery.

The system is made up combining the three different technologies:
πŸ”ΉHigh-temperature heat pump
πŸ”ΉThermal energy storage
πŸ”ΉOrganic Rankine cycle

Today, this novel prototype has successfully been commissioned and tested, demonstrating a stable operation of the first-of-its-kind CHEST system.
